Education and Training

One of WICS main roles is improving education and training in Intensive Care Medicine (ICM). Nationally, training is overseen by the Intercollegiate Board for Training in Intensive Care Medicine (ICBTICM). It has produced a series of documents regarding standards of training, who is eligible to apply for training programmes and how those programmes should be structured.

Dr Chris Thorpe is the Regional Advisor for ICM and sits on WICS Council. Trainees are represented on Council by Dr Nick Mason Chairman of Welsh Intensivists in Training.
